Genesis Scooped V2 Stratocaster® Pickups

The “Scooped V2” set is one of the first sets of pickups we’ve ever offered. Over the years, it has become a favorite among players who crave that buttery smooth, vintage-modern “Big Dipper” sound.

With the original pickups being mass-produced over a long period, one of the biggest challenges was maintaining consistent specs across the various sets we examined as potential benchmarks. After extensive testing focused on frequency quality and dynamics, we identified the set from a 2010 Olympic White JM signature guitar (serial #SE10370) with blue scripts as our reference. The result is a part-for-part recreation of this highly sought-after pickup model. Aside from accurately matching the tonal characters of the original, the added dynamics from hand-winding provide a noticeable upgrade compared to the machine-wound originals produced at scale.

The “Scooped V2” set is voiced with a modern tone profile: higher output across all positions, a scooped mid-range with very well-managed treble, and, of course, that signature buttery smoothness, perfect for modern music genres such as pop, neo-soul and lo-fi instrumentals.
