Genesis Fairfield JR. Stratocaster® Pickup Set [PRE-ORDER]

The “Fairfield JR.” set is our attempt to preserve the tonal architecture of our original BLK-1 reference (JC-1593) with a more streamlined internal build. By simplifying the structural elements, loosening tolerances, and replacing labor-intensive steps with a more straightforward approach, we’ve created a version that maintains the essence while improving production efficiency.

Unlike the original Fairfield set, where each pickup position was uniquely wound to original specs, the JR. set remains uniform across all three positions. The formula is derived from the most wildly-loved neck position, as standardizing the specs helps reduce complexity while keeping the tonal identity consistent across positions.

Sonically, the core tone remains intact. Compared to the OG Fairfield set, the JR. set delivers tighter responses, with less bloom in the upper register and a more immediate feel on the attack. The more focused resonance shape also leads to slightly more responsive dynamics with slightly lowered headroom, leading to earlier edge-of-breakup textures at lower amp volumes. Some of the air and position-specific nuance is smoothed out, but what you gain is consistency and accessibility.

The set is not stricly a replica, but a parallel interpretation designed to retain the musical essence while reducing the overhead.

It won’t match the original in every subtle detail, nor is it meant to. For players who are more budget-conscious and less concerned with the original blueprint, this version offers a faithful, focused, and accessible interpretation.
